Reverse modding: Left 4 Dead campaigns shoved into Left 4 Dead 2 sequel!
Gaurav Sood | Nov 21 2009

Left 4 Dead 2, a co-operative action horror FPS (First Person Shooter) game from Valvesoftware, takes on a zombie mania ride through cites, swamps, cemeteries (of Deep South) from Savannah to New Orleans in four horrifying campaigns. The game by-the-way is sequel to the award winning Left 4 Dead, which had an equally immersive game play spine chilling zombie terror, coupled up with un-paralleled audio effects. So modders over at L4dmods reverse modded the Left 4 Dead 2 to include campaigns from the epic Left 4 dead. The four campaigns can be embedded into the sequel by a multi-step hack of files (changes to some files in L4D2 and you got to have both the games to make it work) into the sequel. This hack works for the PC version of the game.

Not the simplest of hack out there and with the occasional bugs/issues, but still its good enough for dedicated Left 4 Dead fanatics.
Here’s a small clip of the hack in which you can see the Spitter on top of the roof of Mercy Hospital.
