It seems like hackers have developed a profound liking for iPhones and that too jailbroken ones. This is the third worm attack in a very short period of time on jailbroken iPhones. This one though, is of serious nature as compared to the earlier worms. The source of the virus is not exactly clear as it could be a much serious blown up version of earlier worm attacks. Boy if you are a jailbroken iPhone owner, you better start gritting your teeth, because if the Malware makes way into the iPhone, you’ll be a mere spectator (or should I say zombie) of the hackers deeds. The virus makes your iPhone behave like a PC type botnet, first changing the iPhone password and then the hacker has complete control of your possessed zombie iPhone.
Not only that this starts off a chain reaction of search- and-infect other vulnerable iPhones on the network. There have been signs that the iPhone botnet is trying to hack online bank accounts, now that’s scary! So if you jailbroken your iPhone, then the recommendation would, restore back to the Apple-supplied firmware settings. This is very important as the virus could have other tricks up its sleeve, as no one knows the extend or reach of the hacker behind the whole fiasco.
