Hardcore DIY: Make a 3-Axis CNC Mill
Gaurav Sood | Nov 20 2009

Nothing’s too hard for a DIY’er, you put up a challenge and he returns the favor tree folds better. This DIY is all about building a 3-Axis CNC Mill that’s suited for any kind of fabrication job like etching a plaque or maybe creating a PCB cutting along the traces of a representation. Sure you can go out and buy a custom made 3-Axis Mill which will burn up your pockets, so where’s the sense in that? Better you go out and make one yourself, to carve out some crafty magic. The project is a heavy duty piece of hardware with a gantry-mounted cutting tool having three degrees of freedom.

CAD/CAM software is used for the movement inputs, which provide for precision control providing you with the ability to make your own work of art.

.

The DIY can be accomplished with some basic shop skills and tool access, for more details on this project click here.
