Apollo moon mission eavesdropping: Classic hack that shaked the world in ‘Year 1969’
Gaurav Sood | Nov 4 2009

For all those skeptics who believe that Apollo 11 manned moon mission was a total hoax by America (some say it was done on some remote location) trying to prove its supremacy to the world (especially Russians), I think the so called hoax theory should be laid to rest. Why am I so confident of that? Because as your Apollo 11 moon mission was underway, Larry Baysinger (a radio operator) from Louisville, was homing in on the whole radio conversation! The retro techie used a army tank radio and a homemade folded dipole antenna to keep a keen ear on the astronauts’ chat with mission control. Man, some hacking for that era. On the contrary, I guess Russians would have given a fortune to have the live feed of America’s glorious achievement. Well, just a thought!
